    Stella McCartney

A British fashion designer, daughter of the well known and loved; 'Paul McCartney'. I admire her designs; clean, clinical, elegant and animal friendly.

"A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs. She supports PETA. Some of McCartney's designs have text that elaborates on her "no animal" policy; for example, one of her jackets for Adidas says, "suitable for sporty vegetarians" on the sleeve. Stella does use wool, silk, and other animal-derived fabrics in her designs."

    Vivienne Westwood

I personally love Vivienne Westwood! I would love to know what goes on in her head. Her life is a fairy tale and the garments she designs portray this. I admire her work ethic, how she regularly goes to museums to research the history for inspiration. She constantly brings back historic designs to the forefront of fashion.

"THE world of Vivienne Westwood is one of dress-up, costume and elaborate fashion tales. "

    Dolce and Gabbana

    Dolce and Gabbana....
an luxury Italian fashion house, The company was started by Italian designers Domenico Dolce  and Stefano Gabbana.

    Summer 2014 fashion show.

     "an unconscious dream,"

I love how they have  used old photographs of ruined amphitheaters as prints, that had a pleasing graphic quality.

"It was an imaginary journey, they said, to rediscover ancient Sicily. Coins were blown up to the size of tea plates..."

My favourite is these shoes! an art piece within itself, beautifully crafted platforms.

    Cole and son

I stumbled across 'cole and son' whilst researching designers on the 'Chelsea harbour design centres' website. Immediately I loved the traditional family ran business, founded in '1875'. The company to this day withholds many of ordinal drawings and wallpapers that focus on the 18th, 19th and 20th century. In my opinion the company is part of the entire history of the textile and surface history. Especially after wallpapering Buckingham palace! I adore these wallpaper designs, find myself looking for hours... Beautiful, elegant and luxurious

    Museum delights

Still in the process of finishing this drawing set... Vintage collections from the museum! I do love a grandfather clock! And a tea pot... The illustration is done in a wet media (drawing ink), I want the grand father clock to be the focal point of the peice. To reflect the grand museum; 'the Bowes'

    Finished peice

After mono printing over the teacup and collaging foliage onto the verse, I am finally happy with the outcome

    Drawing sets

Tea cups, tea pots and spoonsss...

Here I've arranged a drawing set of a teapot, a tea cup, a spoon and flowers, I kept the composition traditional. To make the composition fairly individual I used the tea pot as a vase for the flowers, again the drawing is done using wet media. This is the first stage of the illustration, currently I am deciding on a background and whether or not I want a  backdrop of an object to add to the piece.

A late post on my floral study of a delicate sunflower... The illustration was done in wet media using drawing ink and a stick as my material. I chosen this method as I wanted the drawing to appear delicate and distraught, nature plays a big part in everything we see, hear and feel. Not only do we see nature as in foliage, fashion is also is heavily influenced.

    Versace Spring 2014 Line...

"Versace also avoided conformity by contrasting the floral pieces with all black leather ensembles, a trend that is hardly heard of for Spring. Many of the outfits included loose and flowing fabrics, which were perfectly mismatched with tight or structured pieces."

Versace's spring/summer 2014 line focuses on beautiful floral's with a twist, whilst embracing a rock and roll edge we are all use to seeing from Versace, the garment is delicate and feminine

    Flea market

Flea market buys... Beautiful unwanted items. Most consider are 'rubbish' I think of them as 'treasure'. After visiting the flea market in Hartlepool I was inspired to focus more on vintage goods, more so old items.
Here I've focused on the grandfather clock, I've illustrated the clock using wet media; drawing inks and water so the ink would bleed into the drawing creating a rustic charm.

    Vintage shop inspiration

After visiting the milk cope store in Newcastle I was immediately inspired! From shabby chic, Chateau to Georigian timeless pieces. A style to suit anyones personal taste.

My illustrations here focus on the objects I bought from a flea market recently. I personally love how someone's unwanted 'tatt' can be another's treasure. I stained the background in relation to the antique theme, the teapot and tea spoons are monoprints. This technique of drawing helps to reinforce the theme.

    Mulberry Home

The mulberry Home imperial collection is inspired by the
     "finest traditions of English craftsmanship".
Mulberry is an British company that emphasizes the true beauty of the traditional way of working.
Mulberry has become an international brand  due to the iconic bag which has been endorsed by several celebrities.

The brand can be identified by the well known mulberry tree,
which is incorporated within all of the merchandise; including interior's.

Here is a example of one of my personal favourite wallpaper prints, I adore the floral image and the dull colour pallet of grey and white used. Suttle but beautiful.
